57, Greenwich Village, NYC (I turn into a pumpkin above 14th street)

What do you do for work?
Writing professor by night, bestselling author by day, in between plugging my new book – “The Byline Bible,” a writing guide based on 25 years of teaching.

For play?
I quit smoking, drinking, and all my other addictions, so now I’m addicted to book events.

My husband and I couldn’t have kids together, but maybe that’s why we both love teaching so much.

If you came with a warning label what would it be?
Don’t ever make her do anything in public before 5 pm.

What scares you?
Not getting another book deal.

What’s your fantasy version of your older self?
Working as well as my younger self though my shrink says I’m jealous of myself 25 years ago.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Just spent a few days with my amazing husband at Shutters in Santa Monica after I finished West Coast book events. We fell in love there about 25 years ago.
