What do you do for work?
Theater director.

For play?
Time with friends and family is my best play.

Regrets?
Hmmmmm. I don’t live that way. I don’t want  to even consider having regrets.

Can you describe your fantasy version of your older self?
I hope to be –
Living in a true democracy that bends towards justice with hope for the health of our planet
Healthy myself
Loving
Successful
Physically strong
Surrounded by people I love who are also healthy and thriving …
And telling stories that matter and deeply affect people.

What’s your biggest fear?
The state of the world – climate change, racism of all forms, and the extreme rage that seems to be all around us.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate… and tv.

What does the group mean to you?
It’s a fabulous resource for women focused questions.

What do you consider your biggest achievement to date?
Being the 6th woman to win the Tony Award for Best Director of a play – for directing a piece I love with my whole heart. Making it as a female director starting out 20 years ago… it ain’t been easy. An award is a silly way to measure success in many ways, but it’s been such a mountain to climb I’m damn proud.

Tell us something surprising about yourself?
I’m adopting a little girl right now from Sierra Leone. (If anyone here has done anything similar, let me know!)
